Wordpress

While researching the migration of all the KCRW blogs from Vox to a local install of Wordpress, I figured it would be a great idea to create my own blog.  =)

Part of a larger SEO strategy for KCRW, I’m looking into moving our Vox hosted Left Right and Center, KCRW Music News, Good Food, etc. blogs onto a local install of Wordpress MU (the multi-user version wordpress.com uses) The options for extending Wordpress are amazing; from auto generated sitemaps, auto inserted Google Analytics code, caching, etc. to iPhone compatibility and Facebook connect support.

In addition to blogs, there exists a general need on KCRW.com for a user comment system. Two 3rd party applications might be easily integrated into the KCRW.com CMS in addition to the blogging system: Disqus and IntenseDebate (now owned by Automatic). From talking with the CEO of Disqus it seems they will eventually support Facebook Connect and OpenID (allowing people to comment on KCRW without registration if they have a Facebook or Yahoo account). Both options look promising as we move forward…

This website uses IntenseDebate comments, but they are not currently loaded because either your browser doesn't support JavaScript, or they didn't load fast enough.
